Three Great Ways to Create Amazing Digital Market Reports

I wanted to the new tools we have built over the past few months to help you take advantage of the digital version of the QMR.  There are really three great ways to do this:

1.  Email Blast.  The digital QMR is an awesome marketing tool that most of you are not using enough.  It’s a great report to send to your entire sphere, your lead router lists — really, anyone for whom you have an email address.

2.  Customized QMR.  Also, the digital QMR is now very customizable, allowing you to create a QMR for just one county or several counties, which might be more relevant for you if you want to focus more on your countywide market.

3.  Customized QMR with Local Market Stats. And even better, now you can even create a market report that combines the analytical QMR for your county with market stats reports for individual towns and villages — which creates a great printable, customized market report for listing presentations, buyer presentation, farming, or even expired/FSBO courtesy packages.

Here’s how to do all those things:

Option One: To Create a QMR for an Email Campaign through Client Connect

You can use Client Connect to create a nice-looking email that contains a link to either the NY or NJ report, and send that email to any group of people on one of your Connect lists.

Here’s how you do that:

  • Open Up Client Connect
  • Choose a list from My Lists that you want to email to (if you want to email to multiple
  • Choose “Send Email Template” from “Work with My List.
  • You’ll open a new page, with a choice for “Email Type.”  Select “Send R4L Events”, “Send NY R4L Report”, or “Send NJ R4L Report” — depending on what document you want to create.
  • You’ll then create a new page that will have a sample email template that includes a cover message, a visual image of the market report or event guide, and a link to open the full document.
  • All of that text is customizable, so you can write whatever you want.
  • If you want to check the report itself, just click the link.

The link will take you to the report itself, which is customized with your contact information. Go check it out. The links look like this:

NEW YORK REPORT

NEW JERSEY REPORT

SEASONAL EVENT GUIDE

All of those links are customized with my information because I created them.  If you create them, they will have your customized information.  You can also take that link and use it in a variety of ways.  It’s a GREAT thing to add to your signature on your email, like I’ve done below (see the end of this email for my signature).

Option Two: To Create a More Selective Report for Just One County (or select Counties)

Let’s say you don’t want the full New York report, you just want the eastern region (Westchester, Dutchess, and Putnam).  You can do that in Presentation Center.

  • Go to Presentation Center
  • On the top row at the end, click on Quarterly Market Report
  • Check off the pages that you want to include in your Report — i.e., which Counties do you want to include?
  • Hit Submit

For example, I created a report for just Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess, which you can see here:

QMR for Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess

Option Three: To Create a Combined QMR along with a Local Market Stats Report(s)

Here’s something new that you probably didn’t know you could do: create a report that combines the QMR for a county along with individual market stats reports for the individual towns in that County.  Here’s how you do that:

  • Go to Presentation Center
  • On the top row at the end, click on Quarterly Market Report
  • Uncheck everything except the report for the county that you want.
  • Then check on the bottom right “Market Stats Report”
  • That will bring up the familiar Market Stats Report entry page.  Select the county, the property type (probably single-family, which is the default)
  • Then select the towns/villages that you want to include in the report.
  • Then select the “Compare Years” date range.
  • (VERY IMPORTANT) Check “Yes” to “Would you like a separate report for each town.”
  • Hit submit.

What you’ll get is the standard analytical QMR report that includes your county, and then the individual market stats for towns you wanted in your county. It’s a really nice way to create a customized report for farming or even just generally for the markets that you cover.  Here are some examples.

Here’s a Report on Rockland AND each individual river town

Here’s a Report on Westchester AND White Plains

Here’s a Report on Orange and Warwick.

Here’s a Report on Bergen and Old Tappan (data screwy because of MLS)

Here’s a Report on Passaic and Wayne

So take advantage of all the opportunities you have to market this really good information digitally!
